CG Appliance shutdown / reboot
CG Appliance shutdown / reboot
As VMware Tools are not permitted in the CG appliance, so no “Shut Down Guest” option exists, can the appliance just be "Powered off" or is there a better way?
Re: CG Appliance shutdown / reboot
Hi,
To reboot/shutdown the appliance you can use the commands reboot and halt from the CLI or the menu option [GENERAL] > [System Operations] > [Reboot | Halt | HA State] from the Web GUI.
Actually CG uses journalized filesystems and is by design fault tolerant against sudden stop so in theory a power unplug should not really hurt. However there may be unknown cases where a sudden stop of CG can hurt the consistency of its configuration. That's why it's always safer to use the commands above.
Best Regards,
