rweb Config Settings

Post by tdurham »

I'm currently only able to setup 5 rweb domains... and I could certainly use many more.
( Error 90 (command rweb) - The maximum number of items has been reached for this list. )

When I performed my install of CacheGuard, I accepted the typical 20 user default settings.
But, now I'm finding that I should have reviewed each default setting a bit closer.

So, is there a way to go back into the settings and adjust the maximum number of rweb names without performing a reinstall?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Dear tdurham

Actually you can't and you need to reinstall from scratch. But your current logical configuration is not lost. You can just save it into a file and reload it into your newly built appliance. To do so you can use the Web GUI (menu item: [GENERAL] > [Whole Configuration] > [Load Save Configuration]) or use the conf command (see the http://www.cacheguard.net/doc/command/conf.html).

Please keep in mind that with CacheGuard you can build the appliance model of your choice according your real needs. As the number of rWeb has important consequences on the sizing of your specific model, it should be configured during the installation.

For the number of rWeb the maximum hard limit that you can specify during the installation is 256. Configuring an rWeb number that is too high compared to your real need will only reserve hardware resources on your machine that you will never use. So you should know what you're doing when you chose a value. The same remark is applicable to other settings chosen during the installation.
