Single nic or single network

Is there a way to set up CacheGuard using only 1 nic or conversely 2 nics on the same network?

As CG acts also as a firewall it requires at least 2 x NICs: one for the internal interface (LAN) and one for the external interface (WAN). Internal and external networks can't belong to the same IP network. However you can connect NICs to the same physical network even if it's strongly recommended not to do that.
